Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't.
One of my passions is providing support for people who have loved ones with addictions. Often time we focus on the person with the addiction and the family and friends get overlooked. Living with an alcoholic or having a friend who has overdosed on drugs is not something that is easy to deal with and having a safe place to come and talk about it can provide comfort and healing.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been trained to work with individuals, families and couples of all ages. My background includes working in a variety of settings including schools, homes, residential facilities and outpatient counseling offices. I have experience working with individuals facing battles such as such as depression, anxiety, low self worth and difficult life transitions.I have worked with many court involved youth and their families and enjoy the challenge of working with "difficult teens".Some of my family therapy sessions have revolved around helping family members improve lines of communication, parenting strategies and setting and enforcing healthy boundaries. My experience working in schools has allowed me to help families navigate the special education process by advocating and helping families advocate for themselves.
